Time to celebrate!

Did you know that I’ve been working on an additional masters program through Tufts School of Medicine? If you didn’t, then you probably didn’t realize that I just COMPLETED my masters from Tufts! Cue the celebration :)

As an acupuncturist, I see a lot of patients in pain. Chronic pain is a growing epidemic in our society. And while I felt acupuncture school left me well-equipped to treat pain, I still wanted to know more. I wanted to better understand the physiology of pain, know what treatment options are available for different conditions, be trained in the social, emotional, and societal issues surrounding pain, and connect with the latest that Western medicine has to offer the ever-evolving domain of pain. This is exactly what I learned at Tufts.

While I powered through my Masters of Acupuncture program full-time, I have been taking classes at Tufts part-time. Three years later, I am proud to say I am done! I have officially completed my MS in Pain Research, Education, and Policy. And on top of receiving my diploma, I am thrilled to have also received the “Outstanding Capstone Award” from my department for the culminating research project I completed: “A survey of attitudes and perceptions of childbirth in New England.”

I hope to represent this program well, and incorporate my Western medical training from Tufts into my treatment style as an acupuncturist.
